Minnesota Bar Exam Format

The Minnesota bar exam is administered over the last Tuesday and Wednesday in February and July.  Minnesota administers the Uniform Bar Exam. On Tuesday, the Multistate Performance Test (MPT) and Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) are given. The morning session consists of two Multistate Performance Test questions. The afternoon session consists of six Multistate Essay Exam questions. On Wednesday, the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) is given.  The MBE is a 200-question multiple choice test.  You can prepare to pass the Minnesota bar exam by enrolling in AmeriBar's complete Minnesota Bar Review Course.  The Minnesota bar review course starts at $1295. It covers the entire exam and will prepare you to pass the Minnesota Bar Exam.

Minnesota Bar Exam Scoring

Each portion of the Minnesota bar exam accounts for the following percentage of your overall score:

MBE: 50%

MEE: 30%

MPT: 20%

MPRE Requirements

In order to be admitted in Minnesota, you must score at least 85 on the MPRE. AmeriBar offers a free MPRE Course.

Minnesota Bar Exam MBE Reciprocity

A Minnesota bar admission applicant may be admitted on basis of prior MBE if 1) scored a 145 or higher (scaled), 2) passed entire exam and was admitted in that jurisdiction, 3) meets MPRE score requirements,  and 4) exam was taken in the last two years.

Minnesota Bar Reciprocity

A Minnesota bar admission applicant may waive in if practiced in another jurisdiction for 5 of last 7 years and graduated from ABA accredited law school.  Additionally, an applicant who has taken the UBE may qualify on the basis of a portable score.
